Hello, Nina. With your strong foundation in classical art, what inspired your transition into using AI as a medium in your work?
-My journey into AI art was a natural evolution of my creative practice. Having studied classical painting techniques, photography, and visual design, I’ve always been drawn to storytelling that combines emotional depth with technical mastery. When I first encountered AI tools in 2022, I immediately saw their potential, not as a replacement for the artist, but as a provocative extension of the imagination. AI gave me a way to access new visual languages, to build mythologies, and to generate future worlds that would be impossible through traditional methods alone. It felt like I had found the missing piece between my heritage in fine arts and my vision for the future.
In your view, what are the main aesthetic and conceptual differences between AI-generated art and traditional art forms?
-Aesthetically, AI art can be hyperreal, hallucinatory, or minimalist—it has no single look. Conceptually, however, it operates with a kind of multiplicity. It draws from vast datasets, collective memories, and coded systems, often revealing patterns we didn’t consciously intend. Where traditional art is born from the hand, AI art emerges through prompts, parameters, and collaboration with the machine. The authorship becomes more distributed. I think of it as co-creation, not replacing the artist but reshaping how we think, see, and build meaning.
AI/CC Manifesto

We are the architects of the future - blending technology and creativity to build new realities.
Art is the manifestation of our creative spirit, a reflection of our unique identity. It sits at the center of our brands.
We are entering the generative era. Art and technology are converging, creating new tools and creative workflows. We now have the power to create and iterate in once impossible ways.
We believe in using these emergent generative tools to democratize the creative process and in making the creative experience more accessible to all.
Through continued experimentation, we research new trends & techniques. Our goal is to build knowledge and skills through shared community resources.
AI/CC is a community of creative explorers, innovators, tinkerers, hyper-creatives, and neurodivergent minds. We are driven by a need for research and the development of new creative production pipelines.
We believe that learning is never-ending and always consider the ethical and societal implications of our work and creative practices.
When AI/CC (Artificial Intelligence Creative Community) started, and you got involved?
-AI/CC started in 2022 as a grassroots creative movement and quickly grew into a global nonprofit community. I joined in early 2023 as a community moderator and LinkedIn Community Communication Lead. My background in visual communication and global partnerships naturally aligned with the community’s needs. By late 2023, I stepped into the role of Director of Communications, helping to expand AI/CC’s reach through strategic collaborations, editorial content, and artist features.
Who are the members? What is the mission of the AI/CC, and how do you see its role in the global art ecosystem?
-AI/CC is a collective of over 45,000 creatives—artists, coders, storytellers, designers, neurodivergent thinkers, and technologists—spanning every continent. Our mission is to spotlight and empower AI artists globally by providing visibility, ethical guidance, and collaborative opportunities. We exist to elevate voices that often go unseen and to build a more inclusive and experimental future for art. In the broader art ecosystem, AI/CC serves as both an incubator and amplifier, bridging emerging technologies with human creativity.

Which initiatives, events, or research projects within AI/CC do you find most impactful? How do you see the future of AI/CC?
-Some of the most impactful initiatives within AI/CC include:
  • The Featured Artist of the Month program spotlights emerging artists and talented individuals, offering them a platform to showcase their work and gain visibility within the global creative community.
  • Our creative campaigns, developed in collaboration with organizations such as WWF, Brave Bison, and Rising United, have raised awareness around important global issues, including biodiversity loss, social justice, and female empowerment. These campaigns use the power of AI-generated art to inspire dialogue, shift perceptions, and drive positive change.
  • Editorial and research collaborations with platforms like Prompt Magazine, She is AI Magazine, Creativa Magazine, and, most recently, AI Hokusai, where we spotlight innovative creators and share insights into the evolving role of AI in artistic practice.
Looking ahead, I see AI/CC growing into a decentralized cultural institution—one that not only showcases the future of creativity but also shapes it. We are actively exploring new formats such as virtual exhibitions, open-source resources, and interdisciplinary residencies to foster collaboration and expand opportunities for artists worldwide.
How do you select artists or projects to feature? What role does interdisciplinarity play in your curatorial approach?
-We look for originality, technical experimentation, narrative strength, and emotional resonance. We also value diversity, not just in background but in vision. Interdisciplinarity is crucial: many of our most compelling features blend fashion, poetry, film, architecture, or science. We want to show how AI can be a connective tissue across disciplines. We also try to balance visibility by featuring both emerging and established voices from across the world.
Why do you think building communities around AI art is important? How do you go about fostering that sense of connection?
-Because AI is reshaping creativity so rapidly, the community is essential for grounding the practice. It offers dialogue, feedback, collaboration, and shared ethics. At AI/CC, we foster connection through open calls, Daily Themes, Discord discussions, artist spotlights, and cross-platform partnerships. We also encourage vulnerability, sharing not just polished work but process, struggle, and experimentation. That openness creates belonging.

What ethical dilemmas have you encountered when creating or curating AI-based works?
-At AI/CC, we haven’t encountered many direct ethical dilemmas, but we remain mindful of the broader questions surrounding AI art. Our focus is on keeping the community open to dialogue, shared practices, and transparent knowledge exchange. We encourage artists to engage critically with topics like authorship, data sourcing, consent, and originality, especially in a landscape saturated with generative content. As curators and community builders, we believe our responsibility lies in fostering ethical awareness, promoting respectful collaboration, and creating space for thoughtful conversations about the evolving role of AI in creative expression.
What educational or dialogical approaches do you find most effective for building critical awareness of AI in culture?
-I believe collaboration is essential for sharing best practices, creative knowledge, and ethical approaches. I’ve learned the most by engaging with our vibrant community—through open dialogue, experimentation, and mutual support.

Storytelling also plays a vital role in education. Articles, interviews, and visual essays help us explore the nuances of AI art in ways that are accessible, reflective, and deeply human. Interactive formats such as labs, residencies, and workshops create space for hands-on learning and real-time exchange. And cross-disciplinary dialogue is key: incorporating perspectives from philosophy, science, and anthropology helps us expand the cultural, ethical, and emotional dimensions of AI in artistic practice.

What conditions — technical, institutional, or ethical — do you believe are necessary to support AI-based art practices meaningfully?
-To meaningfully support AI-based art practices, we need greater technical accessibility, open tools, and resources that empower creators across the globe, regardless of background or location. Institutional support is also essential: residencies, funding opportunities, and dedicated spaces that recognize AI art as a serious and evolving form of cultural production. Equally important is a strong ethical infrastructure, with clear standards around consent, bias, sustainability, and transparency to ensure responsible creative development. But perhaps most importantly, we need a spirit of curiosity without fear—an openness to new forms of expression and critical questions, without retreating into rigid binaries of what is considered “real” or “machine-made.”
How do you see AI transforming artistic practice today? What new forms of expression or themes are becoming possible through AI?
-AI is transforming artistic practice by supercharging human creativity and unlocking entirely new ways to create digital art. It acts as a creative catalyst, ignited by human imagination, and allows the machine to visualize what often lies hidden in our subconscious. In doing so, it doesn't just enhance our ability to create; it expands our awareness and deepens our connection to the creative process itself.

AI enables a kind of multidimensional storytelling where one can simultaneously generate images, write scripts, compose music, and simulate immersive worlds. It’s dissolving the traditional boundaries between disciplines, allowing for richer, more integrated forms of expression. Artists are using these tools to explore complex themes such as identity, memory, collective consciousness, future imaginaries, and ecological collapse. Ideas like hybridity, post-humanism, and the unseen are being expressed with new nuance and emotional depth.

What excites me most is how these tools are expanding the emotional and conceptual range of art from intimate psychological portraits to vast, speculative futures while building new connections between creativity, technology, and consciousness.
